Commitment to Service Excellence

Our commitment to service begins with the experienced, local Project Manager we assign to manage every aspect of your project — concept design, engineering specifications, Epoch factory liaison as your home is being built (3-4 weeks), site prep and foundation pour, electrical and water/sewage, and house set-up and completion. He is your single contact for everything you need. And once your home is completed, he is available to take care of any issues that may arise. Our service does not stop until you are completely satisfied!

Superior Construction

The Epoch Homes in-plant construction quality is as good or better than the best contractor you can find for a site built home with the added advantage of the controlled fabrication environment. Parts cut by hand on site cannot possibly match the precision of a $10,000 radial arm saw or $100,000 component cutter in the factory. Epoch's fastening methods are also demonstrably superior because Epoch uses pneumatic tools, which drive fasteners to precise depths — no under-driving and no shiners. Our factory quality inspectors carefully review every construction detail from floor framing to final paint. And, in the controlled factory environment, building materials are protected against warping or deterioration that can be caused by the weather. So they fit precisely into our form jigs for wall panels or trusses.

Materials

Through the power of volume buying, Epoch is able to purchase select grades of wood to construct your home at the lowest prices available — no inferior grades or man-made OSB composition board will do. The same is true for cabinets, fixtures, faucets, floor coverings, windows, etc. Your Kara Elizabeth home is built to last — we guarantee it for 10 years!

Wall Panels

Exterior wall panels are constructed on a huge wall table in the workshop. Working on the flat surface, all the panels for one side of the house are built together. This process is efficient and ensures compatible fit. The wall panels are framed with studs and genuine plywood (not OSB). Whenever possible windows are installed in the shop when the wall is flat on the table so considerable time is saved on the site.

Wall panels are completed with the customized exterior finishes selected by the homeowner, then flipped over to finish the interior side. The panels are insulated, a poly vapor barrier installed, and the interior finish is installed.

Floor and Roof Panels

The floor and roof panels are constructed in the workshop using special jigs made of heavy steel I-beams. This jig keeps the panels square and true during construction, which makes assembly much easier and tighter. Floor panels are actually stressed-skin panels. Stressed-skin refers to the plywood that is glued and stapled to ribs to form a super strong, stress bearing I-beam.

Epoch is one of the few in the industry to become ISO 9001 certified, which means that the company and its personnel adhere to a strict quality control program that ensures documented quality and promotes improvements in practices and procedures. It is an exceptional mechanism for addressing problems and solving them, as opposed to just letting them continue. ISO practices have enabled Epoch to produce consistently high quality and minimize callbacks.

Attention-to-detail is one of the most highly valued attributes of craftsmanship. It is a standard that we set very high and that requires many additional fabrication and finish man-hours to fulfill. And, to ensure that we have met this standard of excellence, every component of an Epoch home is constantly checked and re-checked by our independent quality group. No home is allowed to leave our plant until it has passed the hundreds of Quality Assurance checks.

From its factory in New Hampshire, Epoch sends out a team of specialists to erect the modules of your new home on its foundation. We do not use subcontractors because your home's setup is a highly critical and precise process.
